I am….

Well, I am me.

I had a baby a few years ago. I thought she was pretty awesome. We had a camera, so I took a picture of her (OK, I took about 3200 pictures of her).

One day I decided to post them on my blog. People commented. They were like, “OMG THESE ARE SERIOUSLY AWESOME PICTURES” And I thought, “Well, I do have an  awesome baby.” Time passed, and I took pictures of other people too. There were people who weren’t even as cute as my baby (like my nerdy brothers), but the pictures were still pretty great. It was then I realized something. It’s not the camera. It’s me.

As it turns out, I make a great photographer. I bring something out in people that others can’t.  I’ll find the you that YOU that your first love saw, that your first child evoked, that your spouse just HUGGED out of you. I’ll get you. Even better than that, I’ll get your family too. You know that sweeeeet smile that your toddler saves for special occasions, and that dimple that your pre-teen only gets when she turns her head a certain way? Or, best of all, remember how your husband USED TO glance at you lovingly? As it turns out, he still does.

We live once. All this, all this big life that we do, we do it ONCE. These smiles, oh the laughs, the scrunchy noses and the holdy handsies, they make us, us. Hold your family tight, treasure your love, it just flies by. I know, believe me, I know some days seem to just TAKE FOREVER (remember when you were potty training that toddler?), but then December comes and you get sentimental and you pick up the last pair of 18-24 month jeans you will ever buy and you might not even realize it, but it’s the last pair you’ll buy. They are tiny and cute and they have the elastic in the butt which make them even cuter and gosh, you wanna bottle up that last pair. You can. I did. My “bottle” is hanging in the form of a 20×30″ canvas in my living room.

As for “who i am”, I’m a mother of two, I’m a wife, a daughter, a best friend.  I’m an artist.  I’m a musician.  I love beautiful things, beautiful people, and beautiful photographs.  I’m lucky.  And I’m thankful.

Call me.  I know you’re busy and next week is a better time, but call now. I know all about babies, and families and their love. It’s my job. What’s your job? I know that too! Your job is to take all the moments, and all the emotions, print ‘em big, and hang ‘em proud on your wall for ALL to see. They truly are THAT important.
