I met up with Kris and Mac and their two darling children last night.  They are in California on vacation and wanted to capture some photos of their adorable family hanging at he beach.  This was my first session back to work after my c-section and I was a little nervous.  Luckily their children were AMAZINGLY well behaved and I didn’t have to run around chasing them down like I do my own child.

Michael was a sweet boy, and just so joyful.  This was his first time at the beach and he just couldn’t stop playing with the sand.  I love that something as simple as sand can be so mesmerizing to a child.  Madeline was basically a photographer’s dream.  She loved to pose, but at the same time she was so *real*.  You can tell she’ll grow up to be a very genuine and passionate person, you can see it in her eyes.  Kris and Mac were super fun and so happy. It’s too bad they live half way across the country or I might make them be my friends. ;)

Thank you so much Kris and family for choosing me to photograph your beach trip!  I truly had a blast, you made my transition back into the working world so pleasant.  Enjoy your sneak peek…

After literally months of trying to find the perfect date, the perfect weather and the perfect location – we finally managed to complete the first Yellow Flower session of the year.  And it couldn’t have been with a better family!  These three sweeties were just a dream come true.  I was nervous about how I’d do physically, chasing three kids around now that I’m wildly pregnant and experiencing some pretty painful hips, ligaments, and all the other wonders of being in my third trimester.  But an amazing thing happened, there was no chasing involved!  There were smiles, flower picking, rock collecting, laughter, and just a jolly good time.

Thank you Tiffany and Alex for showing up with such darling children. Enjoy your sneak peek.  :)

My favorite baby boyfriend! This is my 5th session with Jake. I’ve photographed hit at Birth, Newborn, 3 Months, 6 Months and now 9 months. And if it’s even possible, he just continues to get cuter and happier. I seriously have maybe one photo of him *not* smiling, and it was when he bumped his head! Jakey is definitely the exception to the rule… he’s made of sugar and spice and everything nice. Look! I have proof!

Last night I headed out to my favorite location with two very sweet and adorable people.  Well, *three* actually.  Liz and Josh are expecting their baby girl in just a few months.  :)  The weather was great considering all the rain we’ve had… it was well over 80 degrees out, and the lighting was just perfect.  Also, I learned two things this session… 1. When one pregnant lady (*cough*, Liz) mentions she’s craving a Slurpee, the other pregnant lady (me) also begins craving a Slurpee.  2.  There are no 7-11′s in my neighborhood.

Liz and Josh, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!  It was such a pleasure meeting you both. I hope to see you again some time to photograph your baby girl. ;)

Valentine Mini Sessions <3

January 8, 2011

Not too long ago I had the opportunity to photograph this gorgeous family.  They are originally from a far away land known as Australia.  ;)  Their girls were just so much fun.  One is a little older than my daughter, and one a little younger… so I felt right at home.  They were silly and sweet and just an absolute joy to photograph.  Kate is a photographer herself, which made me nervous when she first booked (lol!), but my nerves were quickly calmed when I met her.  So down to earth and fun, and incredibly helpful in getting the girls to relax and have fun with the session.

Thank you so much, Kate and Damien, for choosing me to photograph your amazing family.  I feel so blessed to have clients like you.  :)

When Nicole first contacted me about family photos I was excited! I’d photographed her family last year and they are just fun, good lookin’ people. When Nicole then mentioned that the session was a Mother’s Day gift for her mom and that there would be eleven people, I was a little nervous. But when Nicole went on to say that five of the eleven people were under the age of four, welp… lets just say I wasn’t *super* looking forward to the session… hahaha. I kid. (maybe)

As it turns out the session went better than I could have asked for. Nicole’s mom Debbie (the subject of honor) is nothing but a whole lotta FUN. Luckily, everyone was pretty fun actually. And that is how we got through the session and ended up with some awesome photos that I hope ‘Nan’ will cherish for many Mother’s Days to come.

Enjoy your sneak peek. :)

Attempting to get a photo of Nan with her grandkids.  Didn’t quite go as planned…

It didn’t take long to figure out the best photos from this sessions were going to be the candid shots.

Thanks again Nan & fam.  You have a truly beautiful family and are more fun that should be allowed.

Happy (belated) Mother’s Day.
