I met up with Kris and Mac and their two darling children last night.  They are in California on vacation and wanted to capture some photos of their adorable family hanging at he beach.  This was my first session back to work after my c-section and I was a little nervous.  Luckily their children were AMAZINGLY well behaved and I didn’t have to run around chasing them down like I do my own child.

Michael was a sweet boy, and just so joyful.  This was his first time at the beach and he just couldn’t stop playing with the sand.  I love that something as simple as sand can be so mesmerizing to a child.  Madeline was basically a photographer’s dream.  She loved to pose, but at the same time she was so *real*.  You can tell she’ll grow up to be a very genuine and passionate person, you can see it in her eyes.  Kris and Mac were super fun and so happy. It’s too bad they live half way across the country or I might make them be my friends. ;)

Thank you so much Kris and family for choosing me to photograph your beach trip!  I truly had a blast, you made my transition back into the working world so pleasant.  Enjoy your sneak peek…

i miss this sweet warm sun, sand between toes, beach hair, and… beach bums. ;)

I don’t share a ton of family photos on here, but I couldn’t pass these up.  These make my heart happy.  This is them being them. <3

They were racing and I said “If you’re the fastest swimmer, smile for the camera….!”

Obviously Claire is the fastest swimmer.

Five times in a row she kept saying “One more time??? PLEASEEEEEEEEE?????”

And of course there was always “one more time”.

After literally months of trying to find the perfect date, the perfect weather and the perfect location – we finally managed to complete the first Yellow Flower session of the year.  And it couldn’t have been with a better family!  These three sweeties were just a dream come true.  I was nervous about how I’d do physically, chasing three kids around now that I’m wildly pregnant and experiencing some pretty painful hips, ligaments, and all the other wonders of being in my third trimester.  But an amazing thing happened, there was no chasing involved!  There were smiles, flower picking, rock collecting, laughter, and just a jolly good time.

Towards the end of the party, Siri got the feeling that Tinkerbell would be leaving soon and she basically would NOT let go of her!

This week my daughter, Claire Alyse turned four years old.  She is beautiful, funny, honest, kind, sweet and honestly I could not have asked for a better child.  I don’t know what I did to deserve her… but I’m glad I got her.  :)

Here’s a few photos we snapped before heading out to her birthday dinner.   Nothing official, just for fun.  Keep in mind she is THE most difficult child I’ve ever photographed, hahaa….    ;)

I haven’t had a chance to proof all of their sneak peek images quite yet. But I couldn’t go another second without sharing these two. There is something about mother/daughter sessions that make my heart so very happy. :)
