5 under 4 | los angeles family photographer
September 26, 2010When Nicole first contacted me about family photos I was excited! I’d photographed her family last year and they are just fun, good lookin’ people. When Nicole then mentioned that the session was a Mother’s Day gift for her mom and that there would be eleven people, I was a little nervous. But when Nicole went on to say that five of the eleven people were under the age of four, welp… lets just say I wasn’t *super* looking forward to the session… hahaha. I kid. (maybe)
As it turns out the session went better than I could have asked for. Nicole’s mom Debbie (the subject of honor) is nothing but a whole lotta FUN. Luckily, everyone was pretty fun actually. And that is how we got through the session and ended up with some awesome photos that I hope ‘Nan’ will cherish for many Mother’s Days to come.
Enjoy your sneak peek. :)
Attempting to get a photo of Nan with her grandkids. Didn’t quite go as planned…
At least someone had the right idea!!!
Rewarding good behavior. ;)
It didn’t take long to figure out the best photos from this sessions were going to be the candid shots.
I did manage to get a few posed shots of the kids…
Allegedly.
Beauty amidst chaos.
My personal fave.
and that one posed shot I promised…
(no tricky photoshopping, everyone really looked!)
Thanks again Nan & fam. You have a truly beautiful family and are more fun that should be allowed.
Happy (belated) Mother’s Day.

Great job Katie! I love the shot of baby sticking his tongue out. You did awesome at capturing such beautiful interactions. Love the backlit shots and way to go on the group shot!!
