When Nicole first contacted me about family photos I was excited! I’d photographed her family last year and they are just fun, good lookin’ people. When Nicole then mentioned that the session was a Mother’s Day gift for her mom and that there would be eleven people, I was a little nervous. But when Nicole went on to say that five of the eleven people were under the age of four, welp… lets just say I wasn’t *super* looking forward to the session… hahaha. I kid. (maybe)

As it turns out the session went better than I could have asked for. Nicole’s mom Debbie (the subject of honor) is nothing but a whole lotta FUN. Luckily, everyone was pretty fun actually. And that is how we got through the session and ended up with some awesome photos that I hope ‘Nan’ will cherish for many Mother’s Days to come.

Enjoy your sneak peek. :)

Attempting to get a photo of Nan with her grandkids.  Didn’t quite go as planned…

It didn’t take long to figure out the best photos from this sessions were going to be the candid shots.

Thanks again Nan & fam.  You have a truly beautiful family and are more fun that should be allowed.

Happy (belated) Mother’s Day.

William Michael was born last night to Stacy and Ben.  The labor and birth was beautiful. Superstar Stacy pushed him out in 45 minutes!  He is precious and perfect and has the sweetest little face and gorgeous big eyes like his mama.  Congratulations Stacy and Ben on your beautiful little bundle of joy.  Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph this amazing experience.

This week I had the pleasure of photographing gorgeous wedding gowns, bridesmaids dresses, and flower girl dresses for Jenna of Beane & Co .  I had a serious BLAST.  What a fun group of people (including my daughter Claire who modeled a few dresses)! The dresses are just so pretty I was so excited when Jenna contacted me about this shoot.  She is incredibly talented and I would visit her etsy store as well for some adorable finds.

OH, here was the story of the night (and the reason I will not be out shooting past sunset again!)… We stayed out late trying to squeeze in the last few bridesmaid dresses and just as we were about the leave Jenna spotted a coyote.  A few of us were all “oh cool!” and a few of us (me) were like “oh em gee, let’s GO.” so we began to walk a little faster down the trail back to our cars.  About half way there firetruck sirens from a nearby road began to blare.  It was then that we realized there was more than one coyote as they all began HOWLING.  Suddenly, heels, gowns, props, camera equipment and all, we became very fast walkers, haha!

Anyhow, since I made it out alive, I thought I’d share a few of *my* faves from the shoot.  Enjoy!

kristin came to me a few months ago interested in a session for her family.  her boys are growing up fast and she wanted to make sure she had them photographed while they were still her “babies”.  in a blink of an eye they will be grown men with homes of their own to hang family photos in.  i’m so glad that i was able to give kristin and dwayne a chance to capture these memories of them with their boys… er, MEN.  :)

what a charming, beautiful, sweet and just incredibly FUN family they are.  i’m happy to have spent time with them, and happy to know them.  <3

kristin and dwayne, thank you for allowing me to photograph your beautiful family.  i hope you enjoy your sneak peek. xo

Jen came to me as a fellow mom at my daughter’s school and booked a session for her and her daughter.  I knew right away I would love it.  Four year olds are sweet, and four year olds with their mama are even sweeter.  :)  We’d originally made plans for the beach, but after being handed a dreary overcast September day (What!? Thanks a lot, California.), we opted for the new fabulous field location.  And boy am I glad we did.

Thank you Jen and Ashley for allowing me to photograph your love for one another.  You’ve reminded me that I need to hire someone to photograph myself and Claire sometimes before she starts driving.  The two of you are truly beautiful.  :)  xo.
